When you arrive in Colombo, you will be greeted by a SAZY representative who will serve as your local tour guide throughout your stay in Sri Lanka. You will then be transferred to a hotel in Colombo to recuperate and rest.
On the second day, which is an academic day, go to the Colombo Hockey Association for a training session. Spend the remainder of the day discovering the best that Colombo has to offer. You could plan a special dinner at the hotel on this night.

This morning, drive up to Kandy, the Sri Lankan hill capital, where you will stay in a Kandy hotel. You will stop by the Millennium Elephant Foundation on the way (MEF). Spend a few hours with an elephant expert and animal rights activist who will provide you with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet, walk with, and bathe elephants.
Match Day 03 – Bogambara Stadium.
This ground was converted from a lake into a playing field in 1897. The stadium was renamed an international standard stadium after it was renovated in 1997. Since the renovations, many sporting teams have chosen to use this venue not only for hockey but also for other sports such as rugby and football.

In the morning, your guide will accompany the team to the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens. The gardens are located at an elevation of 460 meters above sea level and are surrounded on three sides by the River Mahaweli (Great Sandy River), Sri Lanka’s largest river. During WWII, the gardens served as the headquarters of the Pacific Allied Command. In the evening, visit the Sri Dalada Maligawa, also known as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a Buddhist temple in Kandy that houses the relic of Buddha’s tooth.
Match Day | 04 – Matale’s Edward Park Hockey Ground’
The final day of the tour will be spent at leisure before being transferred to Bandaranaike International Airport, where your tour will conclude.
