Upon arrival at the Katunayaka airport, you will be greeted and met by one of our friendly chauffer guides. You will then be transferred to the hotel to refresh and relax.
After breakfast we will leave for Anuradhapura, the first kingdom of Sri Lanka En route visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. Some highlights of the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage include witnessing herds of elephants making their way down to the river for their daily bath and feeding of baby elephants. Heritage site seeing in the ancient city, check in to the hotel. Relax and enjoy the comfort.
After breakfast we will leave for Jaffna, will drive 198km through the thick jungles along the Anuradhapura – Jaffna highway. You will enjoy the sightseeing as you experience the bio-diversity when entering the Jaffna peninsula. On our way, we will stop over for an herbal drink and you may enjoy the opportunities to witness the rural village life.
After breakfast proceed to Nagadeepa, visit Nagadeepa, visit Delft Island proceed to Nallur Visit Nallur Kovil. Return to the hotel.
After breakfast, we will leave for Sigiriya, will climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The ‘Lion Rock’ is one of the most remarkable creations rising above 200 metres from the scrub jungle. An UNSECO World Heritage listed site, also known as the “Fortress in the Sky” has many fascinating features ranging from the remains of the Palace, the Lion Staircase, Sigiri Graffiti (verses written on the mirror wall), the breathtaking Frescoes and sophisticated architecture.
After breakfast we will depart for Kandy. En-route we will visit the Dambulla Cave Temple. It is listed as a world Heritage Site and considered to hold the most breathtaking masterpieces of Buddhist Art in Sri Lanka. Next we will proceed to Kandy the gateway to Sri Lanka’s beautiful Hill Country. Check-in to your luxury hotel and relax. In the evening we will visit Dalada Maligawa (home to the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha). You will also experience the bustling city of Kandy. Kandy is the last kingdom of Sri Lanka and is also an UNESCO World Heritage listed site.
En-route visit a spice garden in Matale, experience the different spices that Sri Lanka is famous for. You will be introduced to different spices and shown how some of these spices are grown and processed.
After breakfast, leave for Nuwara Eliya. You will notice as we drive through the Hill Country the temperature becomes much cooler and the air is crisp. You will also witness the never ending luscious green tea plantations and the beautiful waterfalls. En-route we will visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. Here you will observe the process of manufacturing tea. You can also witness how tea is graded and taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory. Nuwara Eliya is about 2000m above sea level. You will arrive at a unique hotel, a true colonial experience!
After breakfast, leave for Wadduwa, 170km drive through the highlands, you will experience the nature’s beautiful landscaping through the tea and rubber plantations as you descend to the down-south coastal line with golden beaches. Check in, plunge in to the pool, refresh & enjoy the sun-kissing beaches.
After breakfast leave down south beach resort for Colombo. Brief city tour in Colombo, check into your hotel and relax.
After breakfast, short tour in Colombo depends on the flight time and leave for the airport for departure with a warm good bye. You will be transferred to the airport in Colombo according to your flight departure time.
